Olive and Honey Gold

Hello lovely people, I hope you all are having a terrific Tuesday!DSC01525_pp

Today I am wearing a new color combination that I haven’t tried before and really like.  Olive and honey, the names seem to go together just as perfectly as the color pairing.

The neutral unassuming olive, tones down what could otherwise be a somewhat loud honey gold.  DSC01578

As you can tell I am loving my new Coach bag that the hubby picked out himself and surprised me with.  Love the detail, structure and color of the leather.DSC01524_pp

A cute and casual look that says I’m not afraid to try new things, within reason of course. ;) DSC01544_pp

Army Wife

Hello beautiful ones!  I hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far. My weekend has been pretty good.  I’ve had some time to do some sewing and work on a couple of things that as always, I’ll be excited to show you next week.

Today’s look is a casual one, perfect for the weekend.  I have quite a few obsessions right now. You already know the peplum…lol Camouflage print is another one.  Now my husband being in the Army wears camo everyday to work and absolutely hates it. (SMH) He says it is not in style and never will be…

He is so wrong as we all know camouflage print is very much “in” right now and personally I think it’s a classic.  Especially the jackets, I’m still waiting to get my hands on one those.

But I was able to get my paws on these lovely pants from Gap, so they are satisfying my camouflage obsession for the moment.

I decided to pair them with one of my hubby’s ARMY T-shirts for the full on effect and throw on some heels to add a bit of a feminine flair.  He just shook his head as he was taking the pictures, I think secretly deep down…maybe way, way deep down…he liked it though. ;)

What I’m Wearing:

Moto Jacket – Topshop.com (Tall)

Army T-shirt – Borrowed from the Hubby

Camo Pants – Gap.com (Tall)

Black Pumps – Avenue.com

So what are your thoughts on camouflage?  Is it a print that you wear or would wear? Let me know in the comments below, I love reading your thoughts. :)

Navy and Fuchsia

Hello Lovelies!

Have you ever made a suit out of two pieces that didn’t come together  or even from the same store?  Well that is what I did here. Remember a while back when I was showing you my closet and talking about editing, because I had so much and could never find anything to wear?  Well I found these navy pants hidden in between a few things.  I’ve had them for months and completely forgot  about them.  I was able to see  this blazer that I’ve had for quite a few months as well and noticed that they were both the same color.   I never wore them together before, because I could not see them.  what do you know they go together perfectly, so now I have a navy suit. ;)DSC01142_pp

What I’m Wearing:

Navy 3/4 Sleeve Blazer – Charlotte Russe

Navy Pants – Banana Republic Factory Store (tall)

Printed Top – Banana Republic Factory Store

Shoes – Nine West via Piperlime.com

Gold Cuff Bracelet – Forever 21

Bag – Coach

P.S. I loving my new Coach bag!  My hubby surprised me with it a couple of weeks ago when I was sick in bed with the flu.  The brown pairs very well with navy.

Faux Leather, Faux Fur, Faux Real

Hello Lovelies! With today’s outfit post it would be a darn lie if I told you I was walking around Honolulu with this outfit on.  Even in the middle of December it does not get cold enough on this island.  To be honest I was sweating just taking these pictures…lol but I was in the mood to “dress up” for Winter and really wanted to wear my (faux) leather pants and (faux) fur vest together.

After waiting for what seemed like an eternity I received these pants I purchased a couple of weeks ago from Alloy. I ordered them in October and they were backordered.

But they were definitely worth the wait. They are super long, (I had to cuff mine under) and super soft and comfy to wear.  I absolutely love the look of them.  The only negative is that they do have a low-rise, nothing obscene, just a bit lower than I’m used to.

This faux fur vest I’ve had for over ten years now and I’ve only had the opportunity to wear it a couple of times, but every time I do, it adds instant chic to my outfit and makes me feel well …posh.  Although its faux, its the quality that has allowed it to hold up its appearance all of these years, even after being stuffed in a vacuum sealed bag for most of its life . Every time I pull it out its luster  remains intact and its super soft.  Its one of  the best clothing investments I’ve made.  Another one of those items every woman should own, whether faux or real.

A great fitting pair of leather pants, whether faux or real, also a must have.  They can be worn day or night. Be on the lookout for these pants in other upcoming outfit posts.

So what do you think of this “Faux Real” combination? Are you a fan of pairing leather and fur together?  I think the combination exudes a certain subtle, sexy elegance.  DSC01192_pp

What I’m Wearing:

Faux Fur Vest – Los Angeles Vendor (really old)

Heather Gray Turtleneck – Oldnavy.com (tall)

Faux Leather Pants – Jalate via Alloy.com (37″ inseam)

Black Booties – Christian Siriano for Payless

Bag – Louis Vuitton

Lipstick – MAC (Media)

I really wish it was cold enough here, for me to strut about town in this outfit, because I am definitely feeling this look. ;)

No nonsense Tights and Leggings – 2 Looks

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of No nonsense. All opinions are 100% mine. No nonsense tights and leggings can be found at food and drug stores as well as mass retail stores.

Living in Hawaii I don’t often have the opportunity to layer up very much because of the consistently warm temperatures here on the island.  But I was excited when I received my No nonsense tights and leggings in the mail.  I received a pair of No nonsense leggings in black and a pair of textured fashion tights in black.  The leggings were a bit short on me which was expected since I’m 6’4″ tall. They stopped about 2 inches above my ankles, but I always wear leggings during the fall and winter season inside of  my boots, so this did not bother me.  What I loved the most about these leggings is the way they feel.  They are so comfortable and super smooth.  Now if No nonsense made them in an extra long version, I would be one super happy tall girl.  Now on the other hand the super cute tights were surprisingly long enough.  They were a size m/l and super stretchy.  They went all the way up and did not ride down at all.  These tights are definitely a new-found favorite of mine.

The great thing about wearing leggings are they are a quick, easy and comfy way to get dressed and still look cute and pulled together by simply throwing on an oversized cardigan, sweater or shirt. Quick, easy and comfy are all needed for moms on the go and running errands on the weekend.

What I’m Wearing #1:

Cardigan – Missoni for Target

Top – Old Navy

Leggings – (courtesy of) No nonsense

Boots – Via Spiga via Nordstrom Rack

Bag – Louis Vuitton

Necklace – Forever 21

WhenI laid my eyes on these No nonsense tights and the super cute laced texture I knew immediately that I wanted to play on the edgy-girl look.  So I paired them with a flirty skirt and moto jacket to help achieve the look.  This is my first time ever wearing textured tights and I have to say I will adding more of these to my closet.  I think they are a great way to add visual interest and fun to a simple ensemble.

What I’m Wearing:

Jacket – Topshop

Dress – Anne Klein via Ross

Shoes – Christian Siriano for Payless

Earrings – Forever 21

Tights – (courtesy of) No nonsense

Red, White and Black

I hope you all are having a terrific Tuesday.  What I love about today’s outfit, besides the color combination, are the wonderful deals I scored.   I’m wearing my Prada sunnies which my hubby calls the bug-eyed glasses because of their size. (Shaking my head, I like them, bug-eyed or not..lol) I spotted these in TJ Maxx a couple of months ago.  They were on clearance for around $80 and I wanted them, but didn’t want to spend the money, so I passed on them. I came home and told my husband about them and he said why didn’t you get them and I explained I thought it was too much money, because I wouldn’t wear them every day, because I normally wear my prescription glasses. But I still kept thinking about them after a couple of days, so I decided to go back and get them.  Praying that they would still be there.  When I went back I didn’t see them or any of the other items they were with and my heart sunk a little.  (That’s how I knew I really wanted them) I asked a store associate in the area and she told me the clearance items had been moved a row over and that everything was just marked down again.  I went over to the next row and started digging under a pile of sunglasses, the one pair of Prada’s were on the very bottom and they were marked down to $49.  I took it as a sign that they were meant to be and didn’t hesitate to purchase them this time. :)

This pretty Kenneth Cole trench I found at Ross a couple of weeks ago.  It was the color that caught my eye first and then the shape and the poof at the shoulders.  When I turned it around and looked at the back, I really fell in love!  $200 on clearance for $29!! There was no hesitation with this purchase. To top it all off I am wearing my Faconnable pinstripe pants I showed you all a couple of months ago from my TJ Maxx Summer Clearance haul post that I paid only $15 for. These were a super score because of their length.

What I’m Wearing:

Red Trench Coat – Kenneth Cole via Ross ( regular price $200, purchased it on clearance for $29)

Black Button Up Shirt – oldnavy.com (tall)

White/Black Pinstripe Pants – Faconnable via TJ Maxx ( regular price $200, purchased on clearance for $15)

Red Pointy Toe Shoes- alonai.com (They carry women shoes up to a size 15)

Bag – Kate Spade (purchased during their online sample sale)

Sunglasses – Prada via TJ Maxx (purchased on clearance for $49)

Watch – Bulova

Polka Dot Peplum DIY and Skinny Red Jeans

Hello loves!  I hope you all had a fabulous weekend.  I’ve actually been under the weather with the flu since Friday.  So I’m feeling kind of so-so, but being able to share another completed sewing project with you all pepped me up.  If you follow me on Facebook and/or Twitter then you already know I made this sleeveless polka dot peplum tee last week.  I couldn’t wait to wear it with my red skinny ankle length jeans and black wedges for a fun and ultra girly look.  I used Vogue pattern V8815 this time.  The instructions are super easy and the only alteration I made was not using a zipper in the back.  I used a stretch cotton knit (t-shirt material) fabric. I only needed 1 yard of material, so this cute top only cost me $6 to make. :)

What I’m Wearing:

Polka Dot Peplum Tee – DIY

Red Skinny Jeans – oldnavy.com (Tall)

Shoes – Payless

Bag – L.A.M.B via Nordstrom Rack

Jacket – oldnavy.com (Tall) Last Year

Watch – Bulova

I think I’m obsessed with peplum right now, I have several projects on hand that I’m ready to start and about half of them involve some type of peplum.  I hope you all don’t get tired of seeing me in them….lol

Piper Lime (Black Friday) Haul

This past Friday, black Friday to be exact I was on a mission to find shoes.  Since I’ve started making clothes and actually enjoying it, it’s allowed me to be able to focus my shopping time and funds mainly on shoes and accessories, but still  purchasing items that I don’t think I can make myself (just yet ;)).  So my main mission this past Black Friday and Cyber Monday was  to find cute shoes at a steal of deal.  I did just that at Piper Lime.  In case you didn’t know I wear a size 12 in women’s shoes and sometimes even a 13 depending on the shoe. I used to be able to wear an 11 or 12, but after I became pregnant with my second son my feet grew and never went back down…lol Piper Lime carries a pretty good selection up to size 12 and even some size 13’s.  I purchased five pair of shoes.  They were all on sale ( I just checked and they still are if you, want to pick up a pair or five for yourself, plus some other cute options as well. I also received an additional 20% off for Black Friday, that discount unfortunately is over, but the sale prices are still good.  All of the shoes I purchased were size 12’s. My shoes arrived yesterday , and out of the five pair, I only have to return one pair.  For some reason it fit perfectly fine on my right foot, but on the left it was tight and started to hurt as I walked around my living room.  I’ve come to the age where no amount of pain is a cute shoe worth..lol  So sadly I will be returning them.  Yay to Piper Lime for having free shipping and free returns.   They even provide the label in your shipment, so it is truly hassle free.  Here is my haul.

‘Flax’ by Nine West, they were on sale for $39.99 plus I received an additional 20% off. 3 1/2″ heel and very comfortable to walk in. Love them!

“Flax’ by Nine West on sale for $39.99,plus I received an additional 20% off, loved the color but unfortunately this pair did not fit, so I will be returning them. :(

‘Johnson’ by Hive and Honey on final sale for $54.97 plus I received an additional 20% off. Love these, they are so cute on and super comfortable.

‘Runit’ by Nine West on sale for $49.99 plus I received an additional 20% off. Cute shoe, I love the fuchsia color and low heel.

‘Rocha’ by Nine West on sale for $39.99 and I received an additional 20% off. I thought these would be fun for New Year’s Eve or a holiday party. Plus I think every girl needs at least one pair of glitter shoes in her closet. ;)

These shoes plus a ton of others are still on sale at piperlime.com.  The additional 20% off is over, but the sale price is still great by itself.

Happy Shopping!

Did anyone else buy shoes on sale during Black Friday or Cyber Monday?

Feeling Bold

Hello friends, I hope this post is finding you all well this wonderful Wednesday. I think when you pair leopard print and the color red together you are definitely making a statement.  That is exactly what I wanted to do.  I was thrilled about this blazer from Zara.  Although I just knew the sleeves would be too short for me I decided to go ahead and order it online anyway because I loved the print and figure I could just roll or push up the sleeves.  But to my pleasant surprise when the blazer arrived and I tried it on, the sleeves were actually long enough.  Yes I did my happy dance..lol  I thought now what to wear with and I was like I wish  had a pair of red pants.  I have skinny jeans but didn’t want to go tight on the bottom.  So I decided to make one of my first pair of pants.  For one of my firsts I actually liked how they turned out.  I wanted loose-fitting trouser style and I think these fit the bill.  Although my next attempt with pants will be a fit and flare type, where they are fitted through the rear and thighs and start to flare from the knee.  Hopefully I can pull those off. Feeling quite bold Tanasha? …why yes I am. ;)

What I’m Wearing:

Leopard Print Jacket – Zara

Black Tanktop – Bershka

Red Trousers – DIY

Black Booties – Chistian Siriano for Payless

Black Clutch – DIY

So tell me my friends are you “bold” enough to wear leopard and red together? How do you feel about this pairing? I’d love to know, please share in the comments. :)
